KL University students have added another achievement to the institution’s growing innovation journey by securing third place at the Electron Vibe HackAP Hackathon 2025, held in Visakhapatnam.

The winning team, part of the Garuda Drone Technology Club at the Vijayawada campus, competed under the startup category with their registered venture, Aerovhyn Pvt. Ltd. The four-member team, Gullapalli Venkat, Harshini, Challagulla Nithin, and Yatish, presented a drone-based solution focused on real-world applications and market feasibility.

The hackathon, organised by AP COEET, brought together student startups from across the state and evaluated them on innovation, practicality, and business potential. The KL University team stood out for its strong technical design and clear problem-solving approach.

The Garuda Drone Technology Club is a student-led initiative with 37 core members, supported by alumni mentors who guide students through hands-on projects and industry-oriented learning. Through activities like hackathons and live projects, members gain exposure to system design, solution integration, and entrepreneurial thinking.

Faculty mentorship and institutional support have played an important role in enabling students to convert ideas into working solutions. Access to resources and encouragement to explore beyond the classroom continue to help students build confidence and practical skills.

This recognition further reflects KL University’s growing reputation among the top universities in South India, particularly for promoting experiential learning, innovation, and student entrepreneurship. The university remains committed to nurturing young innovators who are prepared to meet real-world technology and industry challenges.
